LG India is finally releasing an Android 9 pie update for its LG V40 ThinQ users in India. The company has already issued updates in other countries including the United States, Europe and South Korea. According to the report, Android is also launching a new firmware for LG devices with 9pi. About one month after the update roll out in the United States, LG released it in India.

According to a report of GSMArena, the update package comes with PKQ1.190202.001 build number. Please inform V40 ThinQ users that this update size is 1.5GB. It has also been reported in the report that the update comes with Android security patches on July 1, 2019.

The new firmware brings many new features including YouTube Live Streaming, Panta Shot Feature, Chine Shot and Part Slo-mo. In addition to these improvements in the Camera app, the firmware operating system also includes features like the Dual app. Apart from this, other changes in this update include digital wellbeing, including app actions, app slices, gesture navigation, and app timers. It is currently running as an over the air update and will reach all V40 devices in the coming weeks.

If you are a LG V40 ThinQ user you can check it in the System Updates section in the Settings app. If you do not see an update prompt, then this is not a concern because it is rolling in an incremental method. This means that the company is issuing updates in a phased manner.
